Located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, SMAC is based on the Malabar Rifle Range, and caters for Fuel Powered and Electric aircraft, helicopters & slope soarers. The Club welcomes beginners, and has an Aeroflyte Condor electric & Hobbico Superstar 40 trainer aircraft with Futaba buddy-box systems for members to use. Most people fly on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 PM , although solo qualified members are allowed to fly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00AM to dusk after signing the register at the NSW Rifle Association office . Visitors are welcome to check out the field over two flying days as guests. After the two days of attendance you may then be invited to become a member or associate member. All members need to be covered by insurance. Fees include a third party insurance coverage, and are paid annually from July up to the Financial Year end in June. Travel down Anzac Parade through Maroubra, turn left at Pioneers park into Cromwell St, left again into Franklin St and continue straight through the roundabout into the Rifle Range. Do a dogleg left to the left of the Office, and follow the dirt road North & then East towards the mounds. The Pits is on the left side at the end of the road.
