How
about a 1/4 scale model
of a real sprint car are powered by 25cc,
or 35cc Whipper Snipper type motor with a racing class for either
size motor. These sprint cars race at the Society of Model Engineers
at Luddenham Rd, Luddenham on the last Sunday of each month, except
December. The cars race on a 1/4 scale clay speedway track which is
about 110 meters long, and they are capable of speeds of over 70km/h.
There are two other classes of 1/4 scale racing, one is a super sedan
class with a 25cc engine and the cars have suspension similar to the
full-size sprint cars. The other class is pan car similar body and
motor to a super sedan, but has no suspension and is normally built
on a aluminium pan. |

type Futaba radio system installed, with a high-capacity 6volt nicad
for the cars ignition & onboard radio system. Made from
aircraft-grade aluminium, steel & fibreglass mouldings, with high
quality ball bearings throughout. A single fibreglass disc brake provides
stopping power to the rear wheels. Pin-spike rear tyres give excellent
grip & last nearly forever. The suspension is tunable & can
be set up to handle different track conditions by varying the stiffness
of the sway bars on front & rear. Your car runs on a cheap petrol/oil
mix, just like a lawnmower, and is started by giving a few pulls on
